Medical Management Overview

For participants that are selected to participate in the medical management treatment group, their study physician will have pre-selected the type of medicine. This medicine is prescribed to thin the participants blood and it is believed that it may reduce the chance of having another stroke. Medicines that may be selected include: aspirin, warfarin (Coumadin), clopidogrel (Plavix) or aspirin combined with dipyridamole (Aggrenox).
